Bitcoin Halving, often referred to as 'the Halvening' is a pre-programmed event in Bitcoin protocol.

Bitcoin Halving events were designed to reduce the rate at which new Bitcoins are created.

Bitcoin Halving events ultimately leading to a capped supply of 21 million Bitcoins.
